Springy 1.5.2 has been released

Introducing Springy, simple and elegant, yet powerful archiving utility that will make your everyday archiving activities much more pleasurable. Written specifically for Mac OS X, Springy integrates seamlessly with it and includes features you would expect from a proper Mac OS X application. If you can find your way through bunch of files in Finder, you would do so in Springy in matter of seconds.

Supports common and most often archive types and compression methods: ZIP, TAR, TAR compressed with GZIP, BZIP2 and Unix Compress methods, plain GZIP, BZIP2 and Unix Compress compression, RAR and SIT. Support for Java archives JAR, WAR and EAR is also included. Support for more types still to come...

New in this version:
Support for creation and extraction of binary split ZIP archives (compatible with split ZIP archives made by 7-zip).
Easy setting of Springy as a default application for some of or all supported archive types in user preferences (application only).
Software License Agreement is not displayed when mounting source image if it is a part of standard automatic update process (this was just annoying people).
Fixed bug which caused Springy to repeatedly ask for a password to extract encrypted files from RAR archive, even though the correct password was entered already.
Fixed bug which caused wrong interpretation and parsing of name of the file in archive, it the name started with single letter followed by a dash ‘/’ character.
Contextual menu plug in does not hang and lock further operation any more whenever a user right-clicks large file which is not an archive (contextual menu plug-in only).

Fixed bug which caused Springy to show “Compress” menu option in Tiger for folders, instead for files (contextual menu plug-in only).

License: You can enjoy almost its full functionality for free, it will never expire and it won't nag you with splash screens and reminders to register. However, if you want to work with really big archives, or to access some really cool features, you need to register. By registering Springy, you support its further development and improvements.
