Firm must change billing practices in light of children racking up huge bills

From V3:
Apple must now change its billing practices to stop allowing purchases within a 15-minute window after entering a password. This was often the cause of children buying add-ons and making in-game purchases, having started using an app as soon as it was download by the parent.

Apple must now also refund all those affected by this, meaning it must pay at least $32.5m. “Apple must make these refunds promptly, upon request from an account holder. Apple is required to give notice of the availability of refunds to all consumers charged for in-app charges with instructions on how to obtain a refund for unauthorised purchases by kids.” the FTC said.
