When I log in and have new private messages, it tells me next to 'news stories' and 'forum topics'.
Does this not happen with you or am I confused?

Not sure, last PM I received was a few months ago, and I never noticed it until a few weeks ago when I decided to click on "Private Messages" in the User panel.

OK, never mind this thread then, just operator error...
I just sent u a PM, but don't read it through Private Messages, wait for it to come up.
My 'Welcome back, Waffler' bar at the top seems to be updated every 30 minutes or so...
