Well After a cross country trip and 7000 miles in flight, I finally made it. Maybe I'll be less cranky from now on. .

:x Righto, I saw SIGNS on the weekend and I'll just say WOW. I haven't been that tense since watching King's Graveyard Shift. If you haven't seen it, forget work, school, children etc and SEE IT NOW.
AMD: 166 Mhz fsb?
FrogMaster
The latest bios for the Asus A7V333 (1012 beta) shows a new option as standard 166 MHz fsb setting besides 100 and 133. Does this mean that AMD officially support 166 MHz fsb as standard? Asus is not a little player and I do not believe they did this without AMD's clearance.
my thoughts about the compatibility results
Genesis
its quite funny that you test all those windows applications if they run on linux. someone should try running linux apps under winnt and post it on ntcompatible, it will be a looooong row of NO. maybe you should try finding native linux applications that fullfill the tasks you want.
Saw "xXx" yesterday...

...and it rocked. Simple story, cool toys, lots of explosions. How could it *not* work?

FAQ Stuff
DosFreak
1. When clicking on a link for a FAQ have the link jump to the FAQ question? 2. Provide Mod's (or anytone really) the ability to edit the FAQ. I'm guessing a seperate page would have to be provided for the FAQ for this ability.
Main page problem
Alien
Having left an IE window open @ NTC, as I normally do, obviously the news would have gone out of date & there would be more news since I checked last. So I refreshed the page & put a word from what was the latest story before I refreshed the window into the find box to save me having to scroll down.
Leave the frontpage for what it's supposed to be? News?
DosFreak
These constant programs showed on the frontpage are annoying. As far as I know NTCompatible is not a file-news forum. It's NTCompatible. We should leave file-news for those websites that are devoted to it.
Highpoint Controllers & Norton Software
DosFreak
Noticed this at Quote:I had an odd problem with my RAID controller (HPT372 - onboard) and sent an e-mail to Highpoint asking a question with some really detailed system info. What fixed the problem was me restoring a Ghost image from a month ago.

Ok courtesy of neowin. net: From our most mighty source ooo, we have picked up some top information on Nvidias latest graphics chip, the NV 30. First some impressive information on how fast it is : whilst playing Quake 3 at 1280x1024 with FSAA 4x NV30 gets 2.
