What if OS/2 lived?

pmistry
I remember back just before Windows 95 was released, OS/2 was quite intriguing at the time. My uncle and I went out and bought OS/2 Warp version 3. 0, and I was just blown away. Awesome shell interface, it could run DOS games with full sound, tons of program options, it could run Windows 3.

GTA VC page 'corrupts' site.

Wilhelmus
The link to Gta Vice City problem:\ causes 'corruption' of the page: Pictures do not work and the whole site on that page goes nuts. Like if I try to open Norton Virus Definitions May 29 page from Latest Web News, I get: Etc.

SAMBA => Getting Win2000 Pro to access Fedora Core 3 server

midnightowner
Have Fedora Core 3 (open source distro based on Red Hat) and am using it as a test server of sorts. Have installed SAMBA so that it can communicate with the Win2000 network. Although I can get FC3 to print to network printers and actually see computers in the network, I cannot get my Win2000 client to access the FC ...

My opinions about Knoppix, Live Linux on CD

Wilhelmus
I downloaded the Knoppix for testing purposes. Now I have used this for couple hours and I must admit that this is rather neat 'little' Linux. It detected all required (video card, sound card, nic, etc.

Accessing the News Archive

nwpsys
Really like the new frontpage layout with the grouping by subject within in each day. Are there any plans to make the News Archive more user friendly ? It would be nice on a Monday morning to be able to look at previous news on a day by day basis, rather than a large list of headlines grouped by month ? Just a thought.

Weird black bar on one thread

Wilhelmus
I noticed that on one thread (Machine Check: Regs in event viewer on boot :: ), the right bar (where the Main Menu, User, Sponsor, Site Search, Google Ad Links, News Feeds, Users Online and Links are located) is totally black.

Adobe buys Macromedia

pmistry
Never saw this coming, and with that Adobe now has a huge market share in web publishing, desktop design, and graphics. Adding products like Dreamweaver, Flash, and ColdFusion, to a list that includes PhotoShop, Acrobat and Premiere, wow.

Database Search Improvemewnt

SyntheToonz
The compatibilty database search would be much more useful if it permitted viewing/searching by manufacturer. Often I know who makes a device, but if it is entered in the database with a different name it can be hard to find.

Trying to contact SHS (Anthony T)

gdonovan
Anyone know how I can get in touch with him? Is he still about? Yes I have sent a PM. I have a running Quantum3D Mercury system that could use his touch on the drivers for proper operation in Win2000.

Automatic closing/locking of old threads

Wilhelmus
It seems that, lately, there have been posting to old threads (some have been years old). The forum would automatically lock/close old threads e. g. after n weeks/months(/years), so the mod(s) do not freak out.

Invocation at Viele's Planet

Atreyu
This is certainly off topic, but if any of you are near Springfield, Illinois, and like heavy/death metal then come check out my band, Invocation at Viele's Planet on April 8 at 9:00PM. We'll be playing with two other bands from Illinois, Pound for Pound and 13 1/2.
